Ministries at St. Teresa's

There are numerous ways you can get involved at St. Teresa's.  If you would like to become involved in one or more, please contact the appropriate person.  Click on the various links to learn more about each of these ministries.

Altar Guild

Nancy Hall (nhall@coles2.kennesaw.edu); Rositha Blake (blakes@earthlink.net)

 Altar Easter

The Altar Guild is a group of persons who's ministry is to take care of the Altar and the Eucharistic vessels. They are the " behind the scenes" group who sets the Altar for Eucharist. They take care of all the Altar housekeeping, the candles, and the cleaning of the altar linens. The Altar Guild is made up of dedicated teams who are assigned to one Sunday a month. They have Saturday duties on a rotation where the silver and brass are polished. This is a very rewarding way to serve our Lord.

Education for Ministry

Bob Brancheau (bobbranch@mindspring.com) and Nancy Hall (nhall@coles2.kennesaw.edu)

Every baptized person is called to ministry.  The Education for Ministry (EFM) program provides people from all walks of life with education "to be" Christians and to carry out their ministry.  All Christians need a Christian education which supports their faith and which prepares them to express that faith in day-to-day events.

EFM is a worldwide program developed by the School of Theology of the University of the South.  It holds before us that the foundation for bringing Christ to the world lies in a church empowered by an active, theologically articulate laity.

St. Teresa's has for many years supported a very active EFM program. We currently have two classes with one meeting at 7 PM on Wednesday and the other gathers at 9 AM on Mondays.  Each class is limited to twelve students and is led by a trained facilitator. Open enrollment is held during the months of June and July and once the class commences usually around mid August enrollment is closed for the year.

Flower Guild

You may sign up to contribute flowers for Sunday morning on a list in the hallway outside the Parish Office.  Cost is $50.00 and our Flower Guild will prepare the arrangement.  Members of the Guild work in teams on a rotating basis.  They also decorate the church for Easter, Christmas and other special occasions.   If you have any interest in flower arranging please contact Diane Smith or Gail Brancheau.

Stephen Ministers are committed people who...

  • Receive over  50 hours of initial training in important caring ministry skills and concepts
  • Visit another person regularly and dependably and offer Christian support and care
  • Participate in regular supervision under the guidance of trained Stephen Leaders
  • Are committed to preserving the confidential nature of the caring relationship.
